The way I currently do this is to have a top-level window with a menu bar, which contains a menu for each of the applications available. If I click on one, it will create a new instance of that application in a separate window. The main window has a jframe containing a jpanel for the main screen, and a small panel containing some small buttons (which will be used for the menu). I have created an icon for each of the applications, but when I display them on the main frame, they are displayed at 100% scale, meaning that they are too small, and therefore I can not see any details on them. I have tried doing a search for my problem, and I found a solution to my problem in this question, but my question is, how can I scale an icon to a certain size, and then display it at that size?
